week 7: reading notes Mahabharata part D
The Mahabharata, written by R. K. Narayan
- Krishna comes and ask Duryodhana for peace but he refuses and when Duryodhana tries to capture him, he can't because Krishna transforms into his divine form
- Duryodhana is wounded by Bhima and even while dying, he blames the Pandavas for everything when they know it was really Duryodhana's own karma that brought along his death
- Dhritarashtra is stricken by grief and wants to kill Bhima so they give him a metal statue that he crushes, thinking that it is really Bhima
- No one is happy about the outcome of the war and they all mourn the dead
- Pandavas end up dying one by one in different, mysterious ways until only Yudhishthira is left
