• Sati, Shiva's first consort dies and she is reborn as Parvati
• Parvati is the daughter of Himavat, the mountain king
• Narada tells Himavat that Parvati is destined to be Shiva's next consort so Himavat sends Shiva away
• Brahma foresees that Shiva and Parvati will have a son who ends up defeating Taraka
• Kama, the god of love, and his wife make Shiva fall in love by striking him with an arrow
• Parvati then tries to win Shiva's love on her own and although she is tested to give up, she does not
• Shiva marries Parvati and they end up having a child with 6 faces
• This child defeats Tarkata and restores peace to all gods in heaven
